Cheekbone Revision: Removing 26 Pins, Then Safe Osteotomy and Bone Graft

A patient with 26 fixation pins in their face from two previous cheekbone surgeries visited On Clinic. After removing all existing pins, revision surgery was performed by cutting, rather than excising, the jaw protrusion bone to minimize the risk of bleeding.

Post-surgery CT scans confirmed that the bone was stably fixed with fewer and smaller pins than before. While there might not appear to be a significant change from the front, a clear reduction in facial width is evident when viewed from below. The thinned bone area was reinforced with bone grafting.
