Sagging under the chin and a loose jawline after V-line surgery are common concerns. After midface bone reduction, skin tightening with Ulthera, Thermage, or Sofwave is necessary. Botox is effective for chin muscle contraction, and when performed after bone reduction, it significantly enhances muscle and soft tissue tightening. A minimum of 3-5 sessions is recommended. Submental sagging can be improved with Ulthera, Tightan, fat-dissolving injections, and similar treatments. To achieve a defined jawline, when refining the bone into a long curve rather than an angular shape, both the inner and outer cortical layers must be cut simultaneously. Jawline improvement is difficult with cortical osteotomy (cutting only the outer cortical layer), neck muscle banding, or facelifts alone. Combining bone-preserving surgery with Ulthera can lead to effective jawline improvement.
